Alessandra Quatti, Head of Corporate Communication, Havas Media Group Italy, chats about a holiday initiative that gifts a sweet treat to the agency's people in lieu of client presents.

Beeautiful Christmas” celebrates the people that pulled Havas Media Italy through a historic year bsending each person a pot of honey from 3bee, a sustainable business developing systems to improve the health of the bees and their management. 

Here, Alessandra explains the festive gesture and why clients will understand the importance of staying true to Havas Group’s meaningful mission.  

 

Why did you decide to do something a little different this Christmas? 

We thought about the Christmas gift we give to our clients every year, and after the year we’ve had, we wanted to think about our own people first. It is always true that our people make Havas Group what it is, but it is particularly true in this moment in history. So, we wanted to send a gift to them, in lieu of our client presents. We know that our clients are also so appreciative of the way our people helped to guide them through the pandemic. It sends a nice message to our clients, which we know they can identify with. We talk often about how our people are our most precious resource, so we wrote a letter to our clients explaining our project and expressed our mission to make a meaningful difference in this way. For us, making a meaningful difference is not just a statement, it is a way of taking care of our people and running our agencies. In this moment, we thought thanking our people was the most important. 

Why was honey the right gift? 

In this difficult moment, day to day, our people at Havas Media Italy have shown their commitment and accountability to make everything possible this year, even with all its challenges.  

Sustainability was our most important driver when choosing this present. This yearwe adopted beehives from a company 3Bee, and we thought a pot of honey would be a great present to reallrepresent our year.  

Why? The bees are very operational creatures, and they work together. They need to be a team to make the honey and do an excellent job and so we can all relate to thatWe have been busy bees this year! Every single bee has a role to play in making a difference and we thought the gift was a wonderful way to express our thanks. 

It’s been a tough year for everyone, but particularly Italy. Are you looking forward to 2021? 

It will be wonderful to finish up this year! It’s really difficult to think about 2021 because the impact of this pandemic is tough. I think that for the next three years we will face hard challenges for our business and our lives. But I do think something changed in our minds, the things we care about have changed and the way we approach our work has changed. We’ve realised through it all that there is a power in togetherness
