HENNING BØRVE FIGENSCHOU, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF INVOLVE HAVAS NORWAY, EXPLAINS OUR AFFILIATE AGENCY’S PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GROUP AND WHAT MAKES THE NORWEGIAN MARKET UNIQUE.

Can you tell us a little about Involve’s partnership with Havas?

Involve Havas Norway is a fully integrated Havas affiliate and has been a part of the Havas family for many years. Over the last year and a half we have moved even closer to Havas both on the PR side, but also on the creative side. Over the last few months of 2020, we connected even more closely with Havas Health & You to be a more visible “family member” within pharma.

Norway is a small but stable market with both national clients with an international footprint and many large and medium international companies. With the close partnership between Involve and the global Havas family we can together provide an even stronger foothold in the Nordic region, together with Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Involve’s commitment to Havas means that global clients have a strong partner within PR, creative and pharma here in Norway.

Norway is a really exciting market for brands to operate in, and also quite different than you might have thought. Together with the Havas family, Involve is ready to take on new challenges.

Tell us a little about the Norwegian market. What makes it different and unique?

The Scandinavian market and target audience is often seen as one. But for those of you who have launched brands here, it is well known that this isn’t quite the whole truth. Norwegians, Swedes and Danes share a lot of similarities, and a close friendship, both politically and culturally, and have a strong connection and a shared heritage. We even speak the same language (almost). But there are some major differences in consumer behaviour, culture and mindset.

Norway has a population of just about 5.5 million, in a country roughly the same size as Germany with its 82 million people. So, we have enough free space to hike in and explore, to say the least. Nature in Norway belongs to everyone – this is written by law. We have 1 million privately owned boats and 450,000 cabins, our second homes in the mountains and by the sea. Recently, cabin sales have gone through the roof because of Covid-19. And it isn’t just city slickers who buy cabins. Even Norwegians who live in the mountains own a cabin in the mountains!

Can you tell us about some of Involve Havas Norway’s clients?

Here at Involve we have a wide span of clients. When you look at our client list you might think that we are one of Norway’s largest agencies – but that is not the case (yet). We are working together with clients like Maui Jim, Bayer, Elanco, Trek Bikes, Stena Recycling, XL-BYGG, Linde Group, Jensen and several major real estate developers. We are one of the largest agencies in Norway within real estate, both on the development side and on the real estate agent side. In 2020, we launched Norway’s largest tech project within the real estate business. We have developed (and built from scratch) a unique real estate web-based system – both back and front end. We have also developed and launched several branding projects for major leisure destinations both by the sea and in the mountains. On the PR side we have carried through several disease awareness campaigns for Bayer with great results and global attention.

What are the agency’s main CSR goals this year?

Involve Havas Norway is a member of the invitation-only community – Open Innovation Lab of Norway. This is a community working according to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This is a partner organisation consisting of several of Norway’s largest entrepreneurs, tech companies, finance and business innovators. Our agency also supports law students in Lusaka, Zambia to helping them finalise their law studies and provide them with a better future.
